Co-ordinating the appeal process, appearing as the Planning expert witness at a controversial Public Inquiry for 70 new homes. Key issues relating to public sector equality duty, community dissipation, viability, heritage and amenity space, for Pemberstone.

Open Space Assessment, Housing Development, Rotherham

Undertaking an assessment of Open Space provision and the impacts of the loss of playing fields in support of a c.150 home development in Dinnington, Rotherham for Barratt Homes.

Promotion of logistics land, Knottingley, Wakefield

Promoting 160Ha/ 4.7m sqft logistics development through the Wakefield Local Plan for Caddick Developments.

Promotion of Logistics Land, South Elmsall, Wakefield

Promoting 80Ha / 2.8m sqft logistics development through the Wakefield Local Plan for Tritax Symmetry.

Industrial Building, Sunderland

110,000sqft logistics building in Sunderland, including Public Rights of Way Stopping Up Inquiry for Bericote Properties.

Promotion of surplus land at Rugby Club

Promoting surplus land at the Old Brodleians Rugby Club in Hipperholme to remove it from the Green Belt. The objective is to fund improvements to the Club facilities, open up more opportunities for sports activities in the area and generate health benefits for the local community.

Wakefield 515, Knottingley, Wakefield*

0.5m sqft warehouse started speculatively in “Covid-19 lockdown”. Currently the largest speculative logistics development in Yorkshire, for Caddick Developments and Panattoni.

Majestic, City Square, Leeds*

Assisted in securing permission for this iconic City Centre listed building, converting the former fire damaged leisure use to grade A office space. Now home to Channel 4 and Knights Plc, for Rushbond.

Moor Park, Mirfield*

Small and mid-sized industrial units in the south Bradford / North Kirklees manufacturing arc, for Caddick Developments.

Student Accommodation, Leeds City Centre*

1200 student bed spaces and amenity space in the Mabgate area, securing permission under delegated powers for Future Generation.

Interchange 26*

Highly constrained former waste water treatment works, now with permission for industrial development, for KeyLand Developments.

Central Square, Wellington Street, Leeds*

Leeds’ first “London Spec” grade A City Centre office space on the former “Lumiere” and post office depot site for Roydhouse Properties.

TKMaxx, CrossPoint 33, Knottingley, Wakefield*

1.2m sqft logistics development for TKMaxx, secured permission in 8 weeks to meet operator timescales, for Caddick Developments.

Guinness Trust site, Hunslet Road, Leeds*

928 City Centre homes in the South Bank, including a mix of flats, family housing, ground floor commercial uses and open space. This project will transform this area of the South Bank, for X1 Developments.

Major residential expansion of Knottingley, Wakefield*

700 home expansion of Knottingley for a major housebuilder, including promotion though the Local Plan and securing permission for the first 2 phases, for Gleeson Homes.

Former Reservoir Sites in Leeds and Doncaster*

Secured permission for several small-scale residential re-developments of redundant reservoir sites for a regional developer, for KeyLand Developments.

Cross Country Gas Pipeline, North, East and South Yorkshire*

Managed and secured Development Consent Order for a 19km gas pipeline through the NSIP process. Managed the public consultation, planning and examination process, as well as co-ordinating the team to produce all relevant technical inputs to the process, for Thorpe Marsh Power Ltd.

Minerals Exploration*

Ran planning applications and appeared as planning Expert Witness at two Public Inquiries for highly controversial geological exploration sites, for INEOS.

Re-use of former Colliery, Rotherham*

Promoted the removal of Green Belt and subsequent allocation for industrial uses, at a former colliery in Rotherham. Also advised on several associated applications for re-use of existing buildings and additional import and tipping of materials from a then active colliery elsewhere in South Yorkshire, for Hargreaves Services.

Spoil Tipping for Colliery in Doncaster*

Secured permission for 45m high, 75Ha spoil tip for a colliery in north Doncaster, for Hatfield Colliery Partnership.

Chemical Waste Disposal, Seal Sands, Stockton*

Innovative technology project for disposing of chemical industry waste though deep drilling, for INEOS Nitriles.
